February 16, 2020. The El Paso Marathon and Half-Marathon.

This will be the second time I've participated in this event and it's a good one. This year my wife will do it also. I have a race pal this year. I will warm-up for the first five miles. Then I will run miles through ten at a relaxed pace. Finally, I will struggle, fight through, and rely on my race experience to finish. It should be fun. Wish us luck.

March 7, 2020 Gate River Run 15 K, Jacksonville, FL

The Gate River Run 15 K is the first of the new races I will be highlighting 2020. It is an epic event and race. The race is not only fun for age-groupers it is also the US National 15k Championship. The Jacksonville River Run 15 K is one of my favorite running races. I am what's known as a "streaker" in that I completed the first 10 RRs, from1978 to 1987. However, it's been six years since I've been in Jacksonville and run the race, but I’m really psyched to be in my hometown. There is so much to like about the race, the organization, the course itself, the fan support, and the post-race activities.

If you thought yoga is just for those interested in slow and boring movements you are quite wrong.

The Smithfield Sprint Triathlon on April 4, 2020, in Smithfield, Virginia.

This is a great race with which to begin the triathlon season. It's a short race with a pool swim, a ten-mile ride followed by a 5 K run. 2014 was the last time I competed in it. It sounds out because it was the first time I won my age group. My time was the second-fastest overall time for the then first ten years of the event.

Yoga gives you all that a gym can but in a peaceful, safe and more holistic way.

May 6, 2020. Smith Mt. Lake Sprint Triathlon at Smith Mt. Lake State Park, Virginia.

This one of my all-time favorite races that I have not done in forever, probably since 2014. We first did in the early 90s when it was an Olympic distance and held during the month of July. It's an open water swim in beautiful Smith Mt. Lake, water temps usually in the mid-70s. A rolling ride on very smooth roads. I'm psyched just writing about it.

Yoga helps the body gently regain its flexibility by stretching out the muscles of various areas.
